This collection is considered one of the most important furniture designs of the 20th century. Charles and Ray Eames developed the Aluminium Chairs in 1958 for the private home of an art collector in Columbus. In addition to designing furniture, they have also made films, photographed and put together exhibitions. Vitra is the only legitimate manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and size
Aluminium Chairs 117/118/119 are available with Hopsak, Leather or Premium Leather covers. The side profiles, armrests and tension brackets are made of polished die-cast aluminium and are available chrome-plated or powder-coated in deep black. The base is a 5-star base with hard castors for carpets or soft castors for hard floors.
The chair has an adjustable backrest mechanism that locks in the foremost position. The seat height can be infinitely adjusted via a gas spring.Cover material
