Naoto Fukasawa - Quiet precision, strong presence
Naoto Fukasawa, born in Yamanashi in 1956, studied product design at Tama Art University and began his career at Seiko Epson. After years at ID Two/IDEO in San Francisco, he founded the IDEO office in Tokyo in 1996 and his own studio Naoto Fukasawa Design in 2003. His work - characterised by concepts such as "Without Thought" and a self-evident normality - ranges from electronics to furniture and is created for leading brands worldwide. Fukasawa is curator of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum, professor at Tama Art University, Royal Designer for Industry and winner of the Isamu Noguchi Award
