Nils Holger Moormann - Designs of a lateral thinker
The furniture creations of Nils Holger Moormann do not fit into any drawer. The manufacturer from Aschau in Bavaria has specialised in sophisticated creations made of wood that are both innovative and useful. For lateral thinker Moormann every piece of furniture must be a small invention in itself, which is not yet available on the market in this form. Shelves for frequent readers are as much a part of his product portfolio as original tables and individual wardrobe solutions. Very important here is resource-saving processing and the use of mostly European sustainable woods.
Moormann is a typical career changer in the furniture business. Born in Stuttgart in 1953, the Swabian-born man initially studied law, which his father had urged him to do. However, he broke off this unloved course of study in 1982 and began producing and selling furniture creations by young designers. In 1992, he moved his own company, founded in 1984, to Aschau im Chiemgau, where it is still an institution today.
The success proves him right - furniture from the Moormann design forge is regularly awarded national and international design prizes.
