Anna Castelli Ferrieri - pioneer of modern design
The Componibili was designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri (1918-2006), one of Italy's first and most important female architects and designers. As a co-founder of Kartell, she drove forward the vision of exploring the possibilities of the then new material plastic to create functional and aesthetically sophisticated objects for everyday use. Componibili, designed in 1967, is the most brilliant expression of this philosophy and has been honoured with numerous awards. It embodies the perfect synthesis of technological innovation and a timeless, democratic design language.
