Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl

Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the Danish designer duo behind NORR11, have created a piece of furniture that combines Scandinavian clarity with a touch of playful design with the Hippo Lounge Chair. The chair is inspired by the massive silhouette of a hippopotamus, whose shape is subtly incorporated into the curved aesthetic. Her talent for combining humour and functionality with high-quality materials is reflected in every detail of the Hippo Lounge Chair. It is a prime example of the fusion of design history and modern craftsmanship.

NORR11 - Scandinavian design

The Danish furniture manufacturer NORR11 was founded in 2011. The company's focus is to redefine and rethink the understanding of Scandinavian design and thus create timeless pieces of furniture that combine the present and the past. This goal is achieved through collaboration with innovative young designers. This results in products of outstanding craftsmanship and quality.

Material and format

The Hippo Lounge Chair measures 73.5 cm high, 71 cm wide and 85 cm deep, with a comfortable seat height of 42 cm. The legs of the armchair are made of solid oak or walnut. The soft upholstery elements are made of generously processed foam and are available in a wide selection of high-quality fabrics or leather covers.
