Small format: PH 5 - 4 1/2 pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen
Already in 1925/26, the famous designer Poul Henningsen designed a three-part lamp shade that was to become famous. As with all designs, Poul Henningsen's main concern was to create lamps with glare-free light, so that they cast soft shadows and the light cone is perfectly aligned.
In 1984, a smaller model, the 5/4½ pendant luminaire, was produced for the concert building Århus Musikhus.
Louis Poulsen - lighting design from Denmark
The Danish luminaire manufacturer was already founded in 1874 and has been producing products dedicated to the duality of design and light ever since. The luminaires are designed for various purposes and are therefore particularly functional. Louis Poulsen produces indoor as well as outdoor lights in close cooperation with well-known designers such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and GamFratesi.
