The versatile designer Patricia Urquiola was born in 1961 in Oviedo, Spain, today she lives and works in Milan. Patricia Urquiola studied architecture at the Polytechnic in Madrid, but she finished her studies at the Polytechnic in Milan.
From 1990 to 1992, she worked as an assistant to Achille Castiglioni and from 1990 to 1996, she was an employee of the De Padova studio, where she developed furniture together with Vico Magistretti. In 2001, Patricia Urquiola founded her own studio for design, trade fairs and architecture. Since then, she has worked for a large number of world-famous manufacturers.
For Driade, for example, she designed the impressive Pavo Real cane armchair, for Moroso the colourful Antibodi seating and for Kartell the brightly coloured Frilly chairs.
