The Eames Plastic Side Chair DSL RE combines the iconic, organic seat shell by Charles & Ray Eames (1950) with contemporary comfort and sustainable materials. The RE seat shell is made of post-consumer plastic and features fine pigment speckles that accentuate its character. The fully upholstered molded polyurethane foam with piping provides a pleasantly soft and supportive seating experience. Mounted on the elegant DSL ("La Fonda") aluminum base, the design becomes a versatile classic for dining areas, meeting rooms, and stylish hospitality settings.

Charles & Ray Eames – Design with attitude
Charles and Ray Eames are among the most influential figures of the 20th century. Their goal – "The most of the best for the greatest number" – was realized with the Plastic Chairs introduced in the 1950s: a new typology in which a single seat shell, combined with various bases, masters a multitude of situations. After early experiments with plywood and aluminum, they further developed the industrially moldable, pleasantly tactile resin shell, making mass-produced furniture a mainstream success. Vitra manufactures the Eames designs in close collaboration with the Eames family and responsibly brings the concept into the present day using RE materials.
