Important designer of the 60s: Herbert Hirche
If you look at the design work of Herbert Hirche, it's hard to believe that some of these modern pieces of furniture were designed many decades ago. The lounge chair, for example, dates back to 1953! After training as a carpenter at the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin, where Hirche learnt under Mies van der Rohe from 1930 to 1933, Hirche worked as a freelance architect and designer. Hirche is one of the most important architects and designers of the 1950s and 1960s. Richard Lampert is contributing to the immortality of designers such as Herbert Hirche by reissuing these classics. Hirche's lounge chair went into series production at Richard Lampert for the first time in 2000.
Richard Lampert: Design made in Germany
In 1993, Richard Lampert founded his company in Stuttgart with the aim of industrially producing furniture and everyday objects that combine quality craftsmanship, design and sustainability. Richard Lampert's collections cover a wide range of areas from outdoor furniture to living spaces and offices. Well-known designers such as Egon Eiermann and Herbert Hirche stand alongside unconventional and lesser-known international designers.
Material and format
The cover of the Richard Lampert Lounge Chair armchair is made of cowhide. You have the choice between brown and white and black and white. The tubular steel frame is chrome-plated as standard. On request, we also offer the Hirche lounge chair with a black or white frame. The dimensions of the armchair are 57 cm wide, 80 cm deep and 67 cm high. The matching footstool measures 57 cm in width, 57 cm in depth and 34 cm in height.
