The DKL-2 Wire Chair represents the perfect symbiosis of Charles & Ray Eames' revolutionary La Fonda frame design and exceptional seating comfort thanks to its signature bikini-style upholstery. This refined version of the iconic Wire Chair transforms the sculptural steel wire construction into an exceptionally comfortable seat that is both visually and tactilely appealing. The continuous upholstery of the seat and backrest creates an inviting atmosphere, making the chair the ideal companion for extended conversations in the dining room, productive hours in the home office, or relaxing moments in the lounge. With its distinctive silhouette, the DKL-2 becomes the centerpiece of any room.
Charles and Ray Eames – design duo
The Eameses are among the most important figures in 20th-century design. Besides designing furniture, they also made films, took photographs, and curated exhibitions.
Vitra is the only authorized manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East. The legendary design duo understood, like few others, how to combine functionality with iconic design.
Material and format
The high-quality La Fonda base, made of die-cast aluminum, is available in either chrome or powder-coated finishes, with the powder-coated version even suitable for temporary outdoor use. The exclusive Bikini upholstery is available in a choice of beautiful fabrics such as Hopsak (100% polyamide) and F Checker (Home only: 23% polyester, 77% cotton), or luxurious leather options, and can be individually configured in a variety of attractive colors. With its ergonomically optimized dimensions of 51 cm wide, 88 cm high, and 52 cm deep, as well as a comfortable seat height of 43 cm, the chair guarantees lasting seating comfort.
