The DKR-5 Wire Chair from Vitra embodies the visionary design philosophy of Charles & Ray Eames from 1951 and continues to set standards in terms of aesthetics and comfort to this day. Charles and Ray Eames - design duo
The Eames couple are among the most important design personalities of the 20th century. In addition to designing furniture, they also made films, took photographs and put together exhibitions.
Vitra is the only authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East. The legendary designer couple knew better than anyone how to combine functionality with iconic design.
Material and format
The technical foundation of the DKR-5 is based on high-quality die-cast aluminium, which is protected against corrosion by a precise powder coating and is also available in various colour shades. With its ergonomically designed dimensions of 49 cm wide, 87 cm high and 51 cm deep and an optimum seat height of 43 cm, the chair guarantees long-lasting comfort. The removable seat cushion is available in great fabrics such as Hopsak (100% polyamide) and F Checker (Home only: 23% polyester, 77% cotton) or luxurious leather versions and can be customised to suit any interior. The black felt glides protect sensitive hard floors and optionally available carpet glides are suitable for all textile floor coverings.
