Designer from the Ukraine: Fascinating play with colours and shapes
Daria Zinovatnaya wanted to be a designer since she was a child, no wonder that the architect and designer already had her own studio at the age of 25. The Ukrainian loves to play with different colours and shapes and her design is reminiscent of images of concrete art that conquered the market in the 1920s and 1930s. Her designs and the choice of colours depend on her mood at the time, and her designs are in demand internationally.
Carpet design at its best: manufacturer GAN from Spain
Actually, the traditional Spanish company GAN, founded in 1941, specialised exclusively in carpets. But in the mid-1980s, competition in this sector grew. GAN realised that a rethink was necessary and went for a new design. Modern and contemporary and designed by professional designers. They were sure of the surprise effect internationally in the traditional craft, although it still took time for customers to get used to this completely new carpet styling.
