Design talent Mies van der Rohe
Mies van der Rohe, born Ludwig Mies, began his career in his parents' stonemasonry business. After an apprenticeship with furniture designer Bruno Paul in Berlin, Mies finally joined Peter Behrens' architectural practice before founding his own office in Berlin in 1912 and later becoming a member of the Deutscher Werkbund and director of the Bauhaus.
Material and size
The frame is made of black, flat spring steel. The foam lining of the seat and backrest is covered with Bauhaus leather. The leather is black.
Since there are only 365 copies of this chair, each is marked with a serial number and the special logo for the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus. The chair is also supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
