Folk art: Eames House Whale sculpture by Vitra
As part of the furnishings of the Eames House by Charles and Ray Eames, the 2 m long wooden whale became famous. Vitra now offers it in a smaller replica made of hand-painted ash wood.The legendary Eames House was peppered with a combination of their own designs and a collection of folk art - including, for example, the whale, which is attributed to North American folk art. The hand-painted object had a permanent place in the Eames Office and was also used in numerous photo shoots.
