A&E Design
At the end of the 1960s, when Ahlström and Ehrich decided to open their studio, it was a time when Scandinavian design seemed to have reached its end, when political protests and criticism of capitalism were at their peak and many design students were migrating to other professions
, yet A & E Design managed to make an excellent name for itself in Sweden and on the international scene.
From the very beginning, A & E Design has focussed on designing useful products for everyday life rather than following short-lived fashion trends,
and plastics of all kinds have always played the main role in A & E Design's creative work, making A & E Design one of the market-leading design studios.
A & E Design develops toothbrushes, dishwashing brushes, paintbrushes, electrical and medical equipment and furniture of all kinds, such as the extremely practical Vitemölla folding chair, which is manufactured at Design House Stockholm
. A & E Design has won 14 Swedish design awards and five Red Dot Awards.
